Broomfield CO – Sushi-Rama Chef Jeff Osaka is set to open his fifth Sushi-Rama restaurant in Broomfield. The new 2,400-square-foot restaurant, at 8181 Arista Place, is slated to open in early December, Osaka said. Birmingham AL – Scooter’s Coffee A new coffee shop will be built in the former Pizza Hut location on U.S. 280. The current building will be demolished and will be a drive-through only. This Scooter’s Coffee location will be the company’s seventh location and the first in the Birmingham area. Franchisee operator Grady Ross said he hopes the location will be open in December, but no later than January 2023. Atlanta GA – Mirko Pasta A new location of Mirko Pasta will open early next year at Town Brookhaven, according to owner Mirko Di Giacomantonio. “We signed a lease two weeks ago, and we start construction in probably two weeks,” Di Giacomantonio said in a phone call this week. The Italian restaurant will take about 3,000 square feet at the mixed-use project on Peachtree Road, which is anchored by Costco, Publix and LA Fitness. Dallas TX – Nuri Steakhouse Dallas-based restaurateur and Smoothie King CEO Wan Kim is opening Nuri Steakhouse, a concept that will serve Asian-inspired brunch and dinners. He announced the news in a press release. But the restaurant, which is set to open next summer, has been testing out its food in a sneaky way. Boomtown NV – Verdi Grill House and Casino Verdi residents soon will have a new local dining and gaming option. The handful of businesses located on Old Highway 40 have enjoyed an increased patronage from the influx of new Verdi residents, and the Verdi Grill House and Casino at Boomtown will be added to the mix in the first quarter of 2023. The 10,000-square-foot building constructed by BLC Builders will include a 2,000-square-foot restaurant and bar, as well as outdoor patio seating. The facility is owned and operated by Boomtown and will be geared toward locals, said Rob Medeiros, chief executive officer and general manager of Boomtown. Winter Garden FL – Skyline Chili The chili and hot dog chain Skyline Chili will soon open in Winter Garden, according to a recent filing with the State of Florida. The restaurant will be located at 2231 Western Way, next to a Firehouse Subs. For those unfamiliar with the brand, Franchisee Daniel Hunsucker explains to What Now Orlando, “Skyline Chili is most famous for two things: the Cheese Coneys and the Ways. A Cheese Coney is a hot dog with a steamed bun, mustard, onion, chili and shredded cheddar cheese. It is the perfect size that fits in your hand! The Ways are often what people describe when talking Cincinnati-style chili because they feature the unique combination of chili on top of spaghetti. Skyline serves the 3, 4, and 5-Way. The 3-Way is spaghetti noodles, topped with chili freshly grated cheddar cheese.
